1. What is in the data line
If we regard the current as water, then the socket in the home is connected to an inexhaustible water tank, the charger is equivalent to a water scoop with filtering function, the data cable is equivalent to a water pipe, and the mobile phone is equivalent to a water cup.
The process of charging the mobile phone is equivalent to continuously scooping water from a large water tank with water scooping, filtering it into drinkable water (alternating current is converted into direct current) at the first time after scooping it out, and then inputting it into the water cup through a tube until the water cup is full.
In this process, the size of the water scoop (charger power), the speed of scooping water (charger frequency), the length and thickness of the water pipe (data line) and whether the water pipe is leaking (the resistance of the data line material) will all affect the filling speed of the water cup.
Obviously, the quality of the data cable also has a great influence on the charging speed of the mobile phone.
Before talking about how the data line affects the charging speed, let's take a look at what is inside the data line.
First of all, take the Apple Lightning data line as an example. After pulling off the external wires, you will first see a layer of metal braid, which is called a shielding net, which can prevent the electromagnetic fields inside and outside the data line from interfering with each other.
There is also a layer of aluminum foil shielding layer under the metal braid, which is used to prevent the magnetic field generated when the current passes through the cable from affecting other components.
Further down there are all kinds of different wires. Of course, what are the different wires used for here? You don't need to know in depth, just know that under normal circumstances, red and black belong to the power line (red positive, black grounded), and green and white are used to transmit data.
Inside them, you can see a lot of very thin wire cores. At present, the core of mobile phone data line on the market mainly has 24 shares, 32 shares, 40 shares and so on. The number of shares may have an impact on the charging speed. Generally, the more shares, the thicker the wire, the higher the charging speed. But this is not absolute.
The charging speed is affected by the material and cross-section of the wire core, corresponding to the resistivity and cross-section to affect the conductivity, which we will explain later.
At present, the main materials of the data line core are tinned copper, aluminum magnesium wire, enameled wire, bare copper, silver plated copper, iron core copper, iron core galvanized and iron core, etc.
In terms of conductivity, you can refer to the ranking of metal conductivity, silver> copper> aluminum> iron> zinc> tin.
The comprehensive conductivity, service life and other conditions, the general better data line will use tinned copper, bare copper, which tinned copper is more common, slightly less conductive than bare copper, but more durable. More high-end data lines may use silver-plated copper.
The more common data line usually uses aluminum magnesium wire, enameled wire, copper foil wire and so on.
